We go to the starting point of the our tour in Goreme by our tour bus. This is where is the entrance of the Pigeon Valley. We get down from the bus and our walking starts with Pigeon Valley.
Pigeon valley is situated between Göreme and Uçhisar and is ideal for walking, as the trek is relatively easy. The name comes from the thousands of pigeon houses that have been carved into the soft tuff since ancient times. Although they can be found throughout Cappadocia, they are especially numerous in this valley. They were carved wherever space allowed, including abandoned cave houses and churches. In Cappadocia, pigeons have long been a source of food and fertilizer. The advent of chemical fertilizers has reduced the use of pigeon dung. However, some farmers still maintain their lofts because they insist that the reputation of Cappadocian fruits as the sweetest and most succulent in Turkey is entirely due to pigeon dung.
We reach to the Uchisar in 1:30 hours. We walk to the Uchisar Castle.
This tall volcanic-rock outcrop is one of Cappadocia’s most prominent landmarks and visible for miles around. Riddled with tunnels, it was used for centuries by villagers as a place of refuge when enemy armies overtook the surrounding plains. Wind your way up the stairs to its peak for panoramic views over the rock valleys of the Cappadocian countryside.
Lunch time ! We have lunch in a local restaurant with traditional delicious foods after visited Uchisar Castle. Our bus take us to the restaurant.
We get in the bus again after lunch and we drive to the entrance of the Love Valley.
Love Valley is a real place just outside of the city Goreme in Turkey ‘s Cappadocia region. Standing erect between the Goreme open air museum and the town of Goreme, one finds this valley of the Super-sized Slongs. If you ‘ve got a good sense of humor and some hiking boots, you too can rummage through the underpants of this Turkish countryside. The site is free (a rarity in Turkey) and is definitely worth a peak. We all know that blue sky make for the most optimal photo, take it in stride if you have a hard gray day and stiff winds.
We finish our walking around 15:00 – 16:00. We get in the bus again after done Love Valley hiking and our driver take you to the your hotels.
